CONFIRMED: Arboretum Restoration Limits Arcadia Film Shoots and Crew Parking Through 2027

CONFIRMED — Location and permitting advisory, October 2026. The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia remains a possible filming location during its Baldwin Lake and Tule Pond restoration, but productions face significant temporary restrictions. FilmLA announced the filming limitations on September 11, 2026; the Arboretum’s own project information confirms that restoration work is underway.

Filming is limited, not entirely suspended

FilmLA says productions of 50 or fewer cast and crew may be considered. That is an eligibility ceiling for consideration, not an approval guarantee. Shoots must not delay or interfere with the restoration work. The area around Baldwin Lake—including historic structures there—is off limits for filming, and Arboretum parking lots are not available for production use.

Crews must arrange off-site parking and account for construction noise, regular truck movements, and heavy equipment. These factors affect location sound, vehicle logistics, equipment movement, load-in planning, and the practical viability of dialogue scenes.

The actual restoration schedule

The Arboretum describes a project beginning in summer 2026, with dredging and sediment removal starting in September. Its currently published timeline expects construction to continue into fall 2027, although project schedules may change. General public access is not the same as production access: the gardens remain open to visitors while specific filming areas and parking facilities are restricted.

What production departments should verify first

Workforce note: This is a location-access and logistics advisory. It does not establish that any particular production is filming or hiring at the Arboretum.
