The appropriate format and label are determined by Socialbilitty.

Reporting, Analysis, and Opinion Are Different

Contributors must understand the distinction among Socialbilitty’s major editorial formats.

Reporting

Reporting documents what happened and what reliable evidence supports it.

Reporting should distinguish:

Analysis

Analysis examines how verified developments connect, why they matter, and what broader implications may reasonably follow from the available evidence.

Analysis may include professional judgment and inference, but those elements should be distinguishable from established fact.

Opinion

Opinion makes an argument, expresses a viewpoint, recommends action, critiques a decision, or advocates a position.

Opinion must be clearly labeled.

Factual claims within Opinion remain subject to verification.

Contributors may not present Opinion as independent reporting.

Film & Television Trade Signals and Hiring Signals

Contributors may submit information relevant to Film & Television Trade Signals or Film & Television Hiring Signals.

Contributors do not determine the final Signal classification.

Socialbilitty retains editorial authority over:

A contributor should not represent an unpublished submission as an official Socialbilitty Signal.

A contributor relationship does not provide authority to issue Film & Television Trade Signals or Film & Television Hiring Signals independently on Socialbilitty’s behalf.

Accuracy

Contributors are responsible for taking reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of material they submit.

Names, titles, organizations, dates, quotations, statistics, production information, employment information, contractual claims, policies, and other factual assertions should be verified before submission.

Contributors should distinguish among:

Uncertainty should not be concealed merely to make an article appear stronger.

Sources and Verification

Contributors should use reliable sources appropriate to the claim being made.

Potential sources may include:

When possible, primary evidence should be preferred for significant factual claims.

A press release or institutional statement may establish what an organization claims.

It does not automatically establish that every claim in the statement is independently verified.

Source Attribution

Sources should generally be identified when appropriate.

Attribution should make clear:

Socialbilitty may require the source’s identity to be known to designated editorial leadership even when that identity is not published.

A contributor may not independently promise confidentiality on behalf of Socialbilitty unless authorized to do so.

Documents and Supporting Material

Contributors may be asked to provide supporting material including:

Supporting material may be reviewed for authenticity, context, relevance, and reliability.

Submitting a document does not automatically establish that:

Plagiarism is prohibited.

Material taken from another source must be quoted, attributed, summarized, or otherwise used appropriately.

Artificial-intelligence tools may not be used to:

When AI materially contributes to research, transcription, translation, data processing, drafting, image generation, or another part of a submission, Socialbilitty may require disclosure depending on the significance and context of that use.

AI output is not a source.

Material factual claims produced or suggested by an automated system must be independently verified before publication.

Conflicts of Interest

Contributors must disclose material relationships that could affect—or reasonably appear to affect—their work.

Potential conflicts may include:

Undisclosed material conflicts may result in correction, removal, or termination of a contributor relationship.

Material alteration of a quotation is prohibited.

Photographs, Video, Audio, and Other Media
